I have a 10MW solar roof and a 2,000Wh battery generator but what if you are off-grid, in an RV? How do I keep it charged? I had a few considerations:
1. I wanted to keep the batteries of my generator charged but didn't want to just plug it into the AC.
2. I like to go camping but also in a grid-down situation need to be able to charge with solar.
3. Lastly if I get solar for my battery generator, I want to put it in use when my home power is on. Tthese battery generator companies cost a premium for their panels.
PowerQueen 190ah LiFePo4 Battery
I purchased this batter to double the capacity of my backup system. Its not as seamless as getting a Bluetti B300 pack but this approach costs at least half the price but you will need a additional toys get it working well.
Renogy 40A 12V/24V Auto MPPT Solar Charge Controller with LCD Backlit Display
Simple way to charge your battery via solar input.
12v-to-36v converter.
I used one od these (not two as in the generator page) to feed power from the PowerQueen through the grid-tie inverter to feed powber ack to my house.
This is a tie grid tie inverter, unlike most that tie to 240v this one will plug into a regular 120v household outlet.
It will feed your house up to 700w, 350wx2 inputs and can be daisy chained together for a scalable solution. You can also use the 12-to-36 converter to use battery power.
This is 25% cheaper then most grid tie microinverters. unfortunatily the daisy chain cable was not included wi
To connect all these components I used XT90 plugs and instead of solder w/shrink tubing I used these. They aren't rated for 10AWG wire but work well with 12 and higher.
